With its roots in running, tennis, and soccer, adidas' original three-pointed flower logo conjures up images of a nostalgic world of competition and sportsmanship, free of 24-hour espn news cycles, multi-million dollar contracts, the WNBA, and most especially, Stephen A. Smith. Also, the original logo represents an era when adidas was the unchallenged worldwide leader in sports apparel and equipment. Facing challengers from hundreds of global brands today, the adidas brand is one in a sea of many, and today is at best second-place to nike, inc.
